Ex-professor gets 5-10 years in wife's slaying

A former ivy league proffesor beat his wife to death with a chin up bar in their kitchen with their daughter present because of an up coming trip. the couple were planning on ending the 16 year relationship and he thought that he wouldnt get to see his daughter so much and that he would suffer financially if they divorced. he freaked out and started bluggening her in the face, so badly that the police thought that she was shot in the face. he then ditched his weapon and ran. but he says that there was no way to prevent it and that he was sorry that he scarred his daughter. later in prison, he told his daughter that he wouldnt send her a chirstmas present untill she sent him her report card and a pic of her. the judge decided to not go so easy on him because he didnt want the father manipulating the daughter like that. she now lives with her uncle.
i think that this man doesnt deserve to only be put in jail for 5-10 years. he took another human beings rights to life. he should be in jail for life. he obviously did this for his own personal gain. i think that we all have control over our actions so this is no excuse in my mind. they were in an argument and he thought that he was not going to benifit from the outcome and so he acted upon impulse to fix things himself. him manipulating his daughter... no wonder why the wife wanted a divorce. abusive men are great at manipulation. he was trying to keep her cornered so when she said she was leaving, even on just a mother-daughter vacation he flipped out and went bizzerk. he says that hes sorry for scarring his daughter but not for brutally killing his wife.... um hello? psychopath!!!! if he couldnt control his actions then he should feel sorry for killing his wife on accident... but it wasnt an accident!! he pleaded guilty cause he was! such an idiot. put him in jail. lock the bars and dont let him out unless its in a body bag. the end.
